At that point Dewey jumped up into the window to find that Lizard!

VAL'S OLD HOUSE

Let me start off by saying sorry no pictures with this post camera on the fritz, but for those who live in town you can see this for your self.

Last week I was driving up Chadsfords and as I passed the Frayer's old homestead something struck me as ummmmmm...... what would be the right word "comforting" It was as if Valerie was still living at the house and she was right on schedule with Fall decorations.

The front columns were wrapped with fall leaves, a large bail of hay sat on the front porch with a rooster (no turkey that lit up, that was really a one of a kind). About two days after passing the house I passed by during the night and yes you guessed it the whole front of the house was shinning with the Orange lights. Kudos to the new owners, very nice.

It's a must girls you got to drive by.

We love and miss you Valerie!!!

The Posh Papoose

We have just added a new item to our line of pet clothes and accessories. We are calling this "The Posh Papoose " . For the under 6 pounds (at this time, larger ones to come) tea cup size dogs , kitten , ferrets ..............

Fabric choices are endless, love the Camo for our little boy friends, also think these would be great for new borns (speaking of the two legged kind now).

COSTLY

Ok this picture is not the best, however if you click on the picture it will enlarge. Yesterday I had a knock at the front door (no one ever uses the front door) a man calling out to me "treeman" couldn't see through my peep hole very well so I asked him to hold on a minute. Now we had just had one huge tree removed from our back yard not to long ago so I thought maybe this man was our "tree man"

Once in the front yard I could tell this was not my "tree man" he told me that they are on the street behind us taking care of some tree damage from Tuesday's storm that rolled through Shenandoah and could see one of my trees had some damage and pointed out this very huge and I repeat huge limb just hanging from the top of my tree. (JP if you are reading this from Cali, yes this is the tree next to your room)

He quoted me a price to remove the limb....ha wanted as much as I paid to have the tree in the back taken down so........looks like I will be calling My "treeman" for a quote before JP has a sky-light added to his room.

UPDATE...........

Ok....we got back the test results on the MRI of the neck. Bulging discs C3-4 C4-5 and C5-6 and and some degenerative changes.

Also JP is on his way to Cali today, headed to the Dream Center.....please keep him in your prayers

Once again thank you to everyone who has been there for him during this time, He is still dealing with the PCS , but I can say it is not so intense.

PCS CONTINUED.........................................

Just an update on JP. He has come a long way but is not quite there yet, this Monday and Tuesday the Dr will be running more test and I am believing in Positive results and will take nothing less.

I know JP is frustrated and I hope that he has not been frustrating to anyone who's path has crossed his. From many of the blogs that I read I seem to notice a disturbing trend, that the Enemy has been on the attack.

In the words of JP Brumfield.."this pcs is some crazy stuff"

Until my next update Ephesians 6:10

ROAD TRIP

MaMere, Debra and myself set out last Friday to an out of town craft show. Sometimes I think we try to hard to save on money. We rented a cargo van to haul all our stuff to the show (seats 2 but 3 of us went, Bean bag chair between the bucket seats worked well) Booked the overnight room on the Internet (the pictures looked good, but mmmmmmmm......) Got in late that first night, ate dinner a a Shonney's (maybe they have been around to long, seemed rundown and DIRTY)

These are a few pictures we took on the trip, in side the cargo van, Dinner at Shonney's, and the one that we were laughing so hard was Debra with the "T.P. papper". Debra had called down and asked if Houskeeping could bring up some T.P. papper to room 208 she was told it was kept at the front desk and she would have to come down and pick it up......yep it was at the front desk under lock and key.

All in all we had a great time and our new fixtures looked great.

PCS

** Post-concussion syndrome, a set of symptoms that a person may experience for weeks, months, or even years after a concussion

**Physical symptoms: double or blurred vision, headache, nausea, fatigue, inability to sleep, dizziness

** Emotional symptoms: anxiety, lack of ability to tolerate stress, restlessness, emotional lability or mood swings,

** Cognitive or mental symptoms: slowed cognitive processing, difficulty concentrating,
decrease in social skills

The list of symptoms goes on and on, but this pretty much covers what we have been dealing with. The end of June "JP" was swimming and hit is head on the side of the pool, the next day left for Church camp in Florida for a week, came home fighting a migraine (something that "JP" deals with on a regular bases until Dr C. began treating him for and got them under control) and can I just tell you it has been down hill from then.

Only time will clear the PCS and it can take up to 6 months, the norm is around 3 months to be completely free of all symptoms.

I will tell you that since "JP" was 9 months old and he took that first step he has been full steam ahead, this brought him to an abrupt stop just like when he hit the wall of the pool.

We are on the way back to life as we know with "JP" PRAISE JESUS!!!!! Thank you to Aunt Ginny :) , David Song and all the other great people and friends that have been there for him and your prayers!

WE DO NOT REMEMBER THE DAYS, WE REMEMBER THE MOMENTS

June 27th Melissa has a Birthday, we are also coming up on 4 years this August since the accident. These dates in time are moments of reflection . I have been working on a scrapbook of Melissa life, she left behind shoe boxes and shoe boxes of pictures . Melissa was never with out a camera if not maybe two. I sometimes find it hard to believe that I am not finished or any further along than I am with the scrapbook.

Memories are perhaps the best gift of all!

Though these dates are hard, and serve as a reminder she is gone they do hold some of the best memories. God has never left us and our strength comes from him, as we continue to seek his face in all things, he continues to show us where he was in Melissa's life and himself in our lives now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!!
Love ya,
Mom

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

I know that I haven't blogged in a while. In my little brain I always think that I need a picture to go with the post, I know thats not so.......with this post there is no picture, only the one you might see in your mind!

Now here is a thought:

On Earth, gold is a precious metal and very valuable;

In Heaven, it's pavement.

THE ENDING

Well last night was the last 24 for this season. We had a small get together here at the house grilled burgers and watched the last two hours. (That would be 5 die hard 24 fans) Anyway this season has not been one of there best....but always the last hour "kicks"

:( :( :( Well not this year! It's rumored that next year they are going to change up the format, they need to don't know if I can sit through another season like this one.

If you are a 24 fan let me know what you thought about the ending.

DEWEY'S NEW FRIEND

Dewey is our new addition to our family. A rescue dog with issues (many issues) Dewey was thrown in the trash as a young puppy he was found right before Katrina and then lived in a kennel day in and day out.

The girls at work started loving on him and working with him but know one could give him a home, so about a month ago I brought him home to see how he worked in with our group here at the house. He has done quite well.

This is a picture of Jp working at home one morning with the help of Dewey! We love the Dew Man!!

PETUNIA

Let me just tell you we have had alot and when I say alot (15-18) animals over the last 14 years.
I would tell people you had to love Children and Animals if you came to our house or don't come.
Our home was always open to my children's friends and Melissa love for animals well need I say more.

Above is a picture of JP and Petunia. Petunia is 13 years old and we have had her since JP was 10 years old , she has been very sick and about two weeks ago we thought she might not make it :( The ole' girl has seen the other animals come and go. Most of our pets all had something not right with them and that was why we took most of them. Petunia grew up with JP and Melissa and it will be a very sad day in the Brumfield household the day she goes.

However her new treatment is working great and hope to have her a few more years.

ONLY IN LOUISIANA !!

Ok, so it is Saturday afternoon my Mom calls me said she needed to run to the store and would I like to go. When Mom arrived at the house I asked her if she would mind going to the large Walmart on O'Neal I needed to pick up some sewing notions.

While in the produce department my son JP walks up to say hello he had seen us walk in. I asked him what he was up to , and he replied waiting for the parade to start. Well I asked him at least two more time because I wasn't sure I understood what he meant.

Yep it was a parade alright, right thru the Store, cups , beads, and candy and not to be undone a King and Queen!! ONLY IN LOUISIANA!!

THE DOGGIE DOOR AND COLD WEATHER !!

10:00pm and all is not quite, JP calls his Dad something in his bathroom and it has a white tail. They get a close look and a mouse it is!! Best guess is that with the cold weather he came thru the doggie door.

THE CHASE IS ON........sorry that the pictures are not the best but it was very hard to hold still. In the hall Dudley standing on the trap with his weapon and you can barely see the back end of Damsel sniffing behind the trunk at the end of the hall. Down the hall to the living room and in to the conservatory. Rebel the cat has our backs when JP finds him hiding up in a window , and with one swift swing of the (plastic) bat the critter has dropped to the floor and between Dudley , JP, and Damsel they have chased him out the door.

Last picture my HERO'S

(sorry I can't get the pictures in the right order)
